Travel expert reveals the REALLY simple trick to book cheap flights

When booking a trip, the cost of the hotel, luggage and flights can all add up and become very expensive.

There are several different techniques travellers use to cut costs, from vouchers to  selecting off-peak travel times.

But one travel expert has revealed the really simple trick he uses to book cheap flights for his holidays.

Vibra Media boss Richard Edwards told Hello! exactly what he does to bag more affordable travel.

He explained that many holidaymakers search for their flights 'the exact same way' each time.

'Airlines use dynamic pricing that changes constantly, but most people search like prices are fixed. That's where they lose money,' he added.

Techniques such as tracking what individuals are looking at also come into play on some travel sites and can shape the price of tickets.

Richard revealed how flights may increase in cost if the site notices a surge in searches for that particular route and travellers might not see cheaper options.

To find the holiday deals, the travel expert uses Google's Explore feature to search for flights.

He explained: 'Open Google Flights, enter your departure city, but leave the destination completely blank.

'Then click on the map view. Suddenly, you can see flight prices to dozens of cities across Europe, all displayed visually.'

The helpful tool shows several destination options at varying prices and is useful for seeing the cost of nearby places.

There is even an option to set alerts for when the price of particular flights drop.

This allows the traveller to bag the deal immediately and potentially save money on their journeys.

'When you use tools like the Explore Map strategically, you're not accessing hidden inventory, but simply seeing the full picture of what's available,' Richard added.

He shared how he helped a friend to save £260 on flights to Italy using his clever hack.

Another expert, Casper Opala  claimed he'd found the best way to save money on flights - and said it was more effective than using popular search engines such as Google flights and Skyscanner.

The personal finance content creator, who goes by the handle Casper Capital regularly shares money-saving tips - and frequently advises on saving money on flights and holidays.

Posting on Facebook, Casper, who's based in Chicago, revealed how he'd paid $92 (£68.52) for a flight that should have, he says, cost $1,050 (£783) - using ChatGPT, which he says 'uncovers what Google overlooks'.

Describing the artificial intelligence software as 'your new travel agent', he details seven steps to guarantee lower flight costs.
